What Fossils can you find at Barton-on-Sea?

(Collecting shells) - 2000

The Barton beds are famous for over 600 species of shells, beds change from West to East, to collect a variety of shells, it is best to work your way along the beach. Although cliff climbing is not recommended, many of the cliff slippage's are full of shells as rain water has washed then down the clay.

Sharks teeth are regularly found, though these are often easier to find on the shore shingle. The sharks teeth come out of the A2 beds together with many other fish remains such as pieces of fish jaw.
